Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on February 2, 1977. She is the daughter of a Colombian mother and her father is a jeweler and writer whose Arabic background greatly influenced his daughter. Shakira is a wonderful and awesome american pop singer. Shakira was found of music in very early age of her life. So that's why she participates in music contests held on her school or college.
